I'm using void.cat. It's where images are uploaded via Snort. I wonder if #[1] changed something on Damus? Maybe a file size limit?

Maybe try nostr.build?

if i had a profile pic hosted somewhere for weeks and all of a sudden a single client stops displaying it properly, it sounds like it's a client change.

I see it now

Theres a 1mb pfp limit on damus

i shrank it down to 4.7mb it's not going to go any lower without looking badly.

Im ok with bumping it, 1mb is a bit low

For gifs it is… mine looks fine on damus but snort makes it bigger and it looks kinda crap

the pfp size wars 2023

Bumping animated sizes to 5MiB/20MiB. Once we can downsample animated media we won't need this limit.

Perfect. Thank you Will <3

Coming up with a convention for media hosts to store different resolutions of same pic might be a good idea

lead the charge with nostrimg.com! i'm sure #[6] would add a disclaimer for profile picture sizes and maybe even refactor images if enough people suggested that this was the way to go. maybe #[7] would do something similar for void.cat profile pics too? it just needs discussed.

Thinking something like wp
