It sucks because a few years ago I gifted some ledgers to my family to store their coin and now I either need to explain that ledger is compromised or just buy them all new hard ware and do the transfers for them
Ya ledger has had a bad month. If they are bitcoin only they are probably fine with sparrow instead of ledger live. The recent exploit is dapp based, correct? Bitcoin wallet container unaffected?
I wouldn’t let my family be anything but Bitcoin only! :)
Yes, maybe I’ll just connect them to a different interface like Sparrow then if the container is unaffected.. still a little worrisome that they’ll need to update firmware through ledger live

You lead them to water and helped them drink. Hopefully they are up and are willing to invest in a bitcoin only wallet when the time is right.
With Sparrow you probably have a lot of legs on the devices without upgrading firmware. The new firmware recall has the ledger recover thing where they can see your secrets. Probably wouldn’t upgrade firmware to that or any new version if it were me.
