Yes it's completely useless, so is the irc channel to get coins. No idea how I'm supposed to work on lightning without a testnet or signet :/
For lightning work I basically just use mutinynet Signet from nostr:npub1mutnyacc9uc4t5mmxvpprwsauj5p2qxq95v4a9j0jxl8wnkfvuyque23vg . It's great and they have some decent amount of lightning nodes on the network.
