Stoicism has been front of mind for me lately.
Another stoic life hack I practice from time to time is negative visualization.
So what is this?
You visualize in the minds eye negative things happening to you, your loved ones and in your life. This sounds morbid, I know! But when you can imagine these negative things through visualization they hit hard and grab your attention and they seem to allow you to be much more appreciative for what you do have, the people in your life and opportunities in front of you right now. It might help you be more present, kind, to take action, appreciate close family members more ( you know the ones you may take for granted) and if nothing else to be glad and appreciate that those things you visualize about are not actually happening.
I find this technique to be counter intuitive and a bit esoteric but a good technique to shift perspective quickly.
