So, if I understood correctly, anyone who sends me a DM on Nostr can not only see if I opened it but also get my IP address?

Nom. I don't think it works that way. In fact, you can't even know if the other user has seen your message.

The IP address I guess can be known if there's some image link and the person DMing you is hosting the image on their server, they can know which IPs have requested and downloaded it.

Cool. Not that I'm paranoid or surprised about my IP address's privacy, but just wondering because every time I click to see my DMs, it automatically opens the last one received.
