What OS?

Ubuntu

Keeping it simple eh I respect it.

I'm running Ubuntu myself but looking to switch it up soon when I got the energy to move everything over.

Thinking a return to Arch.

Did you heard about Zorin or MX Linux ?

I have heard about Zorin, I tried it once but years ago.

Not heard of the other one.

An update to GRUB completely killed my Artix install, and it's the second time in a year something like that necessitated a reinstall.

It's nowhere near as unstable as people make it out to be, but Arch will still fuck you if you're reckless.

Thank God for local backups.

Yeah you definitely wanna keep backups.

I used to run Arch as a daily driver for a few years and never had major issues that prevented boot but it is just pure luck with Arch.

Also helps to have a live USB to save any non-config files before reinstall, and to make sure existing ones are also backed up on a flash drive or portable SSD.

It's a blessing to be a zoomer that actually knows how to use a computer.

No distrohopping? Maybe time for something new? ZorinOS is quite nice.

And Iโ€™m over here afraid to turn my computer off in case it deletes something ๐Ÿคฃ

Why?

PC starting to feel slow

Hmm, if that happens I can normally find the cause and kill it. Running the same Ubuntu install since 2020.

Snapd was one of the culprits for me.

Eh also paranoid, gives me peace of mind too Incase I downloaded something bad
