Puss in boots? Really that good? The rest are bangers.

I was shocked at how good it was when I randomly decided to see it in theaters. I've now seen it half a dozen times and own a 4K copy lol

What's so good about it?

Several things.

The animations and transitions are just jaw dropping, regardless of story this deserves a shout-out. This movie is a work of art, literally!

The story of Puss in boots learning to see that it's the people closest to him that matter most, much more than being able to live longer with "9 lives" as a "legendary" hero who lives all alone. "Maybe, one life... is enough." Is a quote from one of the other main characters. Basically the main character learning to face his mortality, and choosing to spend it with people he cares about instead of alone seeking praise from others.

The story of Goldilocks searching for her "proper family" of humans instead of bears, only to learn to see more clearly that family is never our idea of perfect, and that some people have no family at all. I'm not doing this part justice, but it's good.

The big bad wolf, one of the best written villains in years!

Plus a decent amount of comedy, that's actually funny!

My favourite DreamWorks movie by far.

I'll definitely have to check it out. Hard to beat the OG Shrek tho! Shrek 2 is also phenomenal... I like DreamWorks a lot usually.

Shrek 1 and 2 are fantastic, of the Shrek movies I only like those 2 and the last wish. They're also the only ones I own lol.

Or rather what about it do you like so much?
