Replying to Avatar sperry

basically its a soft-fork that removed the signature part of a transaction. From what I can understand, 75% of all bitcoin is held in legacy addresses, the 25% supposedly could be rugged if moners reverted to legacy chain abandoning the soft fork of segwit.

One of the reasons I asked in a post a few weeks back, long-term storage, it might seem, should be stored in a legacy address, seems "safer" from the sense it won't be abandoned as an upgrade that eventually failed...?
