Since 2023, we’ve had attosecond lasers, which means we can now photograph atoms splitting.

Whether they’ve done this or not yet is another question.

Great find. I did some short research and the devices look very interesting although nothing available to buy yet - there is an issue though - they don't photograph atoms- they provide spectroscopy images which are quite different from real Fotos produced by an electron microscope.

This would be a good start to get spectroscopy images at least to confirm the changes when atom splitting happens - I'm sure the science community is working on it πŸ˜‚

The inventors received a Nobel prize.

We can now see the electron spin around the nucleus, which I find incredible.

Fun fact, there are more attoseconds in a second than there have been seconds in the life of the universe.
