Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a guard, were martyred in 315 AD during Licinius' persecution. Ermil was tortured for his Christian faith, while Stratonic, secretly a Christian, wept openly at Ermil's suffering. Betrayed by his tears, Stratonic confessed his faith. Both were drowned in the Danube.

Lord, through their holy prayers, strengthen our resolve to stand firm in faith, even in the face of adversity.
