I was telling my friends about my experience on Nostr, explained the basics of how it works to them and they liked the idea.

Then I mentioned that it had cryptocurrency integration and they immediately turned away.

I mean, I get it. But ouch, is the reputation still THAT bad? I know I have a pretty strong opinion on it, but I wasn't aware others were just /that/ turned off by it...

tell them it's bitcoin not crypto and see how they react

i'd expect an even bigger negative reaction

Yeah, same here. I am not even gonna try honestly. xD I like Nostr, but I dont want to be pushy about it towards them. They know it exists now so maybe they change their mind some day. o.o
