#AskNostr, is NIP05 relevant or useful anymore?
I'm on the fence about figuring out how to do this in my domain. How does this change my, or other's Nostr experience at this stage of Nostr development?

If it's your own domain it will be a verification that you actually have access to it, if it's from a random website it's just a normal username people can search you with, instead of an npub
Consider it your place of residence
It's useful if you need to prove ownership of a domain. If you have followers, customers, friends, ect outside of nostr it can help them find you without you having to invite them with your nub.
It provides a human readable way for people to ensure you're not an impersonator.
It's not currently being used to prevent spam but may in the future.
And Imo it's only relevant in a conversation about verifying your own domain. Using a nip-5 service serves no benefit unless other extras are included (like a private relay or media hosting).
Ok. Thanks for the insight. It combats against impersonators and makes your account linked-official.
Ugh. I'd be better off for it. Haha. Another thing on the list. This has convinced me to do it.
There are many guides and repos to fork.
I Forked from here because it already had a lightning address redirect.

its easier to remember your nip05 than your npub
