I have a total of 3 firearms and I've become very good at running and maintaining them.

- EDC: Sig P365XL

- Warbelt/nightstand: Glock 17 MOS Gen 5

- Rifle: Q Honey Badger SD

I don't recommend going deep into the prepper or gun guy scene; it's a mostly a time suck that dilutes your focus elsewhere.

Instead, get just the basics and become dangerously comfortable with them. Depth not breadth. Not here.

What’s a good place to start for someone like me who has never used or really handled a firearm? I’m not looking to take on the army, just general security for $10 wrench attacks 😉

Find classes at your local range for handgun use. Develop some proficiency, then get a nightstand gun. Learn to dry fire. Drill your house. Then you're off.

Heard a good piece of defense advice. Get the family all in one room, get behind bed, duck with gun aimed at door and using bed as arm rest. Hold down and call for assistance. Seems more practical?
