I think every son wants to be better than his Dad. The soon yearns for his father's respect & admiration.
My job as a father is to give him a good run for his money, to set the bar high. But also to stop him doing something massively dumb, that might have long term consequences. It's a fine line to walk & I'm sure I will make more mistakes.
Always keep in mind that you're not raising boys, you're raising men. You lead by walking your path while hoping like hell they're still following along & may one day catch up to you.
