Serious questions:

How does Nostr survive when server costs are high (especially storage) and there is no advertising? Paid relays create echo chambers. My global feed is full of spam that’s gotta go somewhere (stored forever) and growing like cancer. Are servers purging these notes somehow?

Nostr is dirt-cheap to run and uploads are never stored on Nostr servers. This is bad in my opinion.

What is "dirt cheap" to you? 8GB of RAM and 150GB of storage is $48 a month on DigitalOcean. Imagine a bot farm blasting your relay.
