If you connect to a fedimint in the new version you don't need to pay for liquidity. It's slightly more risky but fedimint is nice if you don't wanna manage channels

You can just have a portion in in mint you don't have to put all in. You can swap it out for custodied lightning at any time also

It's a self custodied wallet. They even told me how to restore to a different wallet. Their code is open source. There is risk for sure but it's risk I'm willing to take
