I work in the chemical industry, on a top tier COMAH site, that means we deal with some awful awful shit. Phosgene, Chlorine has (Both used in WWI) despite them, I'll always remember the advice of an old guy who used to work in the labs. "The most dangerous thing we use on this site is N²). Inert, no taste, no smell, but if you're in an enclosed space with it, you'll be unconscious in very short order and dead, within minutes.
