That spider is so huge. It gives me chills. Is it a wasp spider?

We call them orb weavers around here, they are pretty common.
Oh normally they would be smaller right? This one looks massive, especially its thick body and the stripes made me think of it as a wasp spider. (That is the name I guess).
Including the legs, this one is about 3 inches.
Oh that is alot smaller then I tought.
