The commandment to worship the Lord means no man may lawfully prevent you - hence the "natural and unalienable right" to freedom of worship according to the dictates of coconscience. It is rooted in the transcendent moral law of God.

Pretenders may unlawfully threaten you, and even make good on those threats, but they are unlawful at the outset and must be defied. "We must obey God rather than men." Make them make good and thus their punishment will be all the greater.
