ok now I understand why nixos and why systemd.

I used to have much time to dedicate to understand and set my machines.

Also used to be younger, with better capacity to deal with eye fatigue.

Today I'm still the unix nerd who wants to use a simple system, but I want to stay less time as possible in front of a screen. I just want to do the job and go sunning my balls.

So I'm not going for setting and tuning my configs manually with the most autistic/unix way, I'm not spinning a gentoo for my new machine and will not tweak the userspace from ground-up.

I'm spinning a nixos reproducible machine that somone else has just fine tuned, and will proceed from here. Still mostly commandline, still mostly the userspace a unix nerd would like, but I'll have a ready-to-do-the-job immutable machine in 15 minutes.

Nixos and systemd are two of the most dangerous unix-killers for linux environments. I think its time to evolve from unix, touch the grass more. Nixos is the beginning of the linux desktop, unix nerds will not like it.

I love the idea of NixOS but I just can't get my head around it. Wouldn't hate on it for a second though.

systemd (and containers) made me stick with Linux or I would've specialized on BSD instead.
