Was thinking about my addiction to youtube and came to conclusion that the content discovery there is so good. It nudges me directions i didnt even know i wanted to go.

Ok, cool.

On the other side i want decentralized content protocols and mechanisms to be more widely used. But i really doubt the centralized youtube experience/algorithm can be replicated.

Hopefully im wrong.

Centralized content indexing is compatible with decentralized content. Like Google. Question is incentives for the indexer, what will be the profit model.

Indexing is not the same as suggesting content. Even if a sorting algorithm is fine tuned for your preferences it’s a hard problem. There must be some centralization of your history. Maybe its not tied to google account… dont have enough technical knowledge to really say how feasible the whole thing is.
