Ok so... After Reading 3 I don't understand 2 😅

I'm on Umbrel and I have 2 different apps : lightning node and Alby hub.

I opened a channel on Alby Hub and I have a wallet there with some says.

But I also have a wallet on the node with nothing on it. I have not opened a channel on this app. What happens if I send funds there? And is there any point in doing it?

ah, sorry. missed that detail

so on Umbrel if you use LND, then Alby Hub just uses your LND node.

It is basically a easy UI for your LND node.

So you opened a channel in Alby Hub (the UI), but your LND is the node that has this channel.

Alby Hub gives your LND node the powers to for example connect to the Alby lightning address, the extension, the mobile app, use zapping on nostr. etc.

Ok thanks. That's how I understood it.

So it's there any point in sending funds directly to LND node?

If I want to, do I have to open a channel there too?

your LND node now has a channel. (you just used the Alby Hub interface to open it)

So you can use the Alby Hub or anything else that uses your LND, all works.

Oh ok. I'll have to look into it to make sure I know how to use it all, just in case.

Thanks mate! 🤙

Ok so I checked it out. When I go to my lightning node, it says that I have 0 channel.

Whereas it's all good and running in Alby Hub. How come? 🤔

did you compare the node ids? is it the same?

where did you see 0 channel?

I'm on Umbrel. When I go to my Lightning Node interface I have what's below...

How would I compare the node IDs?

Ok so I found node IDs and they're not there same indeed.

They're not supposed to be different?

that means you don’t use the same node and the alby hub is configured to use the internal node and not your umbrel node. so what I said was wrong in your case

I see... When you say "internal node" does that mean a node inside the Alby Hub app?
