It is not well understood outside of low level dev circles just haw many ways errors afflict computers

Filesystems get corrupted, and can be recovered due to error correction and structure backups.

When your disk says 1tb, in fact it's probably 1.2tb with a 5:1 ration reed soloman forward error correction

When your USB says 20gbit, it's probably 22gbit with RS FEC at 10:1

The PCI Express protocol probably also is similar, and in addition like networks, includes a resend protocol

Shit happens, and the technocrats pretend the machines are better than humans

They aren't. And things are a bit shitty. If you didn't prepare for that, you will get burned, like I am right now.

I probably will recover but it's not in the bag until it's in the bag.

I'm gonna sleep, and this is my only job until I get it done. The value is too high. I still owe rent that is in that stack, too, thanks to the SEPA fail.

I am in a classic fail to plan situation with this. I am not going to fail, but I nearly will. It's massive if I don't get this right. Never again.
