I see it as a great sign of the bull. I’m happy he’s into the BTC ETF & it appears Fidelity is really educating employees.
He went into the fact that GBTC has high fees & Fidelity practices self-custody.
It’s a net positive from nothing to something.
I did tell him that I think ETH will go to zero either this year or next. Off a cliff. Not that it would just go down in price, I said literally zero & unexpectedly. He knew terms like POS & POW but no idea what they meant.
I feel like it's a huge hurdle for people just think it's ok to think about and maybe buy a little "Bitcoin". Your man's ahead of the curve despite making the subpar plays for his first move.

He’s been lurking. Kid just started college too so his risk tolerance is low. This is a good sign.
I think ETH becomes a monetary network for the banks. POS enables much easier capture to be concentrated at Coinbase. Already built rails to roll out CBDCs.
There’s just too much at stake for them to not want it to succeed. (See what I did there.) So many normies will flock like sheep to yield, especially with nearly unlimited resources to sink into marketing to them.
Also, trust and believe they’ll roll up ETH ETF right into their BTC offerings and nobody will realize. They’ll just want “crypto” exposure.
That's a very good strategy. Bitcoin is already up over 100% since least year, and somewhat expensive at 50k. ETH is obviously undervalued at $2,600, it has lots of room to grow.
