i know some things about el salvador from first hand experience when i was there before bukele. i visited when i lived in costa rica. went to nicaragua first, masaya, granada, san juan del sur, ometepe, then just crossed honduras and stayed in el salvador for a few weeks. it was already very good, violence only in san salvador in a few areas. i was at the beach and it was lovely
