everyone is libertarian… by nature

but the term itself is somewhat compromised – then i talk to people around me they agree with my statements unless i mention it’s a libertarian point of view 🤔

Hayek makes great points in his book Road to Serfdom. He talks about how most people naturally agree with libertarian ideas intuitively, how socialism attacks these ideas and yet how people don't realize they are incompatible.

For example, everyone will tell you that they agree that people should be free to work on whatever they want for whatever salary they negotiate. Yet a socialist state requires the government commanding people what to work on and at what price in order to work. So, the people's freedom can't be respected if the state engine is to work.

It's sad to see people being brainwashed into believing things they don't truly agree with at heart just because politicians and propaganda mess up the discussions to make calm and thoughtfull thinking impossible.
