On platforms, it is a key to have the big names first, and ideally, to lock them in (Joe Rogan). Then the audience comes, and then it attracts the smaller creators. For the platform, it's beneficial to subsidize Rogans of the world at cost of everyone else.
Open protocol reverses the flywheel, imo. It's the audience and small creators first (they are better off than on the paid platforms subsidizing big names), and then the Rogans will be forced to come at last.
