We understand that Zaps are not sales transactions for digital content. Our notes and events or Nostr are not for sale. They are for consuming. The content exists without the Zap. The content can be consumed without the Zap. It's up the the content consumer to decide if they want to Zap the creator. This makes Zaps a combination of feedback, tipping, and donations all wrapped into one little lightning bolt emoji.
