The permanent unalterable record means #nostr is unusable with your real identity as a self interested person.

People can and should be able to start over after a mistake. Using a Nyms and just making a new one as needed is the only way this is possible. Even on sites that allow deleting, people hunt you down with screen caps, or even fake images of the original comment.

Anyone who has never had a desire to start over has led a far more boring life and avoided risks more than me.

If you are new here and started with your real identity. Think ahead, please start over with a Nym now.

Sometimes. I only tell people my Nyms if they are relevant. Also only people who are invested enough in me as a person to give me a second chance anyway. Sometimes only the single Nym relevant to them and how we met so that if Bill Cypher gets killed off they were gone anyway.
