“On Tax Day, I can report the following,” DeSantis wrote on X, before adding that the “number of individual income tax filings due to the State of Florida for calendar year 2023: Zero.”
“Amount of individual income tax revenue collected by the State of Florida for calendar year 2023,” he continued, before adding “zero.”
DeSantis’ staffer Jeremy Redfern shared the Governor’s post and added his own take to it.
He noted that Florida’s budget was balanced, the deficit was decreasing, the state had a AAA credit rating, and “a business friendly and family-focused government without burdening Floridians with more taxes.”
