All modern computing technology was invented and developed to maturity in a fiat environment. Cartels drove innovation and new technology sought greater centralization.

The rise of Bitcoin should come with it a reconsideration of whether any mainstream technology is worth emulating in a post-fiat world. Whether any part of its culture is worth carrying on in a post fiat world.

Just having an economy that didn't rely on "easy credit" would be a tectonic shift. The global economy for roughly the past ~100 years has been driven by macroeconomic assumptions that rely on an inflationary currency.

This is the reason why many economists say that Bitcoin will ultimately fail, because they can't conceive of a modern economy that operates with a deflationary currency.

Yes

Very little will make it through from the old to the new

I'm just frustrated because I see so much fiat software engineering out here. The big devs all use the high time preference methods and are all hopping on the AI train. It's a miracle Nostr is still alive.

Nostr is alive because a few good men will use it regardless of what the rest of the world thinks about it. Bitcoin made this effort possible.
