That's correct. Artists receive value on WL in the form of sats but it's custodied, so 100% goes to Wavlake before it gets divvied out to the artist *minus a 10% fee. When you look at DeMu RSS feeds, you'll notice 100% of the value goes to value splits between all the musicians in the band, artists, etc. WL implemented splits but it's limited to four...and they have to have an account there.
To self-host, you just need your mp3 files, a website and a wallet or node per value split.
Oh, that's not as heavy a lift as I first imagined. I've got all the puzzle pieces, just need to put it all together it seems! We are already paying for a domain/whatever.
(BTW I'm listening to homegrown hits ep.29 right now. Ya'll weird and hilarious. Love it)
