"A lot of my plant-based and vegan friends love to talk about the carbon footprint of raising and eating meat...but they don't want to talk about the carbon footprint of the healthcare industry. When people are unhealthy from improper nutrition, and you're managing millions and millions of diabetics, you're going to need LOTS of healthcare, lots of pharmaceuticals made in factories, and lots of inpatient hospital care with a HUGE carbon footprint.

So, when people are eating junk, not only is there a huge economic cost and drain on the health of our society, but there's an unfathomable amount of pollution and waste generated by the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry as a result of this sickness as well. This is a conversation that needs to be had."

Similarly with suffering. OK, you theoretically remove suffering from animals (which isn't even true if you count individuals) but how much more suffering will people endure? Billions of people suffering 60+ years from various diseases just to save lives of the cows?
