US Senators Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona and Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming have introduced Senate Bill 884, also known as the Improving Digital Identity Act of 2023

If this bill passes both chambers and is signed into law, it will require all Americans to have a valid digital ID -- IF they want to connect to the internet, open and maintain a bank account, obtain a passport, and gain access to medical care.

I tried to postpone it but now it became a real thing.

Stay tuned, soon will be published.

Here is a sneak peak:

And to think Lummis was in the bitcoin court, what is this gatekeeping nonsense???

I dont see the “require” part in the bill. Do you have links to any expert commentary on this bill?

Why to have a digital ID on the internet if it wouldn't be mandatory?

I'm sure, each of us has upward of one hundred digital identities online already. So, no thanks. I'm good.
