in case you were wondering how small umbrel home really is, it's even smaller than a raspberry pi umbrelOS server

Idk kinda looks like a orange pi 5 in there.

That’s nice!

Out of curiosity, what's the IBD time on that hardware?

15.5 hours in our benchmarks 🔥

💯

It doesn't have wifi, does it?

I would hope it does NOT. It is better/easier security-wise and the insistant users can use the USB ports to add a Wifi module. I would personally deactivate those ports entirely.

The ratio spec/price is rather high IMO but in those products aiming at a near 0 skills requirement, the good integration with the OS is key and that looks nice I must say.

I think more and more home users will become more aware of noise levels (ask me how I know...) so I hope to see a fanless solution showing up.

Can it only run umbrel or any OS I flash on it via microSD?

Do you have instructions posted on how to transfer data to this from ras pi + SSD?

oh, we’ll make it one click easy! this month’s umbrelOS update will feature our new Migration Assistant feature for Raspberry Pi users. so all you need to do is connect your existing SSD to Umbrel Home via USB, and click a button 🤙

Tbh, it looks nice 🔥

Looks very nice. Congrats!

Even nicer than an argon one rpi.

I wonder what kind of cooling it has.

Is this a software update in a new box and the old one I just bought can be updated or new hardware and software?
