Everybody says the world is better off today.

Okay, I feel you on that. But how do you know? Because you didn't live in 1902. So how do you know the world is better today? When the people telling you the history are liars.

If you took all the technology away we are far worse off than we were in the 70s

But we are learning that they had technology back in those days. The Wright Brothers weren't the first ones to fly a plane humans were already flying.
