Agricola is a good one. A good game for those who never want to play the exact same game twice.

The aspect I dislike is that it is entirely focused on achieving the maximum at the set endpoint. In real life I can set up systems that will produce for generations.

Absolutely clear. A two-hour game has different limitations than real life. Nevertheless, I like the aspect that you have to build something piece by piece - always taking into account the cards "that life/the game has given you".
