My physical trade preference is to stack ammo of popular calibers instead of physical gold.
Its much less likely to be fake, easier to verify, much more divisible, has an actual use case, and has historical precedent (in USA).
For example, a shot of liquor gets its name from its historical cost being one round of ammunition.
When your unit of gold doesnt exactly match the price you wish to pay, you can't realistically divide it.
If you offered to pay me in gold, I would be skeptical that its not really some other shit metal wrapped in gold.
