Im not so sure about Nostr being a reliable posting house. Since dabbling in relays last week Nostr has been weird.

every day my profile shows a different nonsense follower/following count. My follower group is listed unfollowed, so I follow and next day all unfollowed. rinse repeat.

Upshot, I get to see one or two people's posts in my feed. At the moment it is Dr berry, all very interesting but I'm not that into diet.

Has everybody I have been talking to unfollowed me and I'm not getting it?

I'm posting from primal, been on amethyst, satellite. it's clearly a nostr not client thing. Would appreciate some help to understand why my nostr experience has gone from great to excluded!

Twitter was a dumpster fire for its first 3 years in production.

We are too used to thinking brand new things should act like 15 year old things; a baby is not going to do what teenagers do.

Sure. Not looking for perfection yet, just ideas about why my follow group is appearing and disappearing, and if I can reset anything or .... Are you experiencing any issues where you simply aren't seeing any general conversations with your peeps?

Oh I see all kinds of weird, messed up UI/UX issues. Badly rendered notes one day, fine the next. DMs from one person in the DMs of another (although it's also just a rendering issue and not actual DM xover). Sometimes I can't see OP notes when I'm looking at a reply.

It's a mess and I love it.

Misfires are fine, as you say, it gets like Stockholm Syndrome, primed ready for whats possibly going to go wrong this time! But this follower/thread glitch I have has become a chronic issue. First world problems haha.

I’m not that familiar with the protocol I’m actually very new to this. But I can tell it’s very reliable, because I mostly post video. And the process is so smooth. That tells that the process is solid. I’m sure there’s work to be done but so far works great.

Is it the number of people you are following that is inconsistent or the number of people who are following you?

The latter is perfectly normal, and there's not really a way to "fix" it for clients that do everything locally.

The former may be a lack of overlap of relays from client to client. Check your relay selection on the various clients you use and make sure they are matching as best you can, then go follow someone on your main client to update your kind 3 follower list.

thanks for asking. Im all follower-ed-ing out here!! I will check the relays as you suggest.

Followers - It still shows the expected 90+ Followers in my profile summary but there are only 14 showing in the actual list.

Following - too hard to explain, except I had 80, now it is the 14 I had time to click on in the list of 80 yesterday.

Now the exact same 14 are followers and following.

Am I missing something here? I do admit to spatial awareness problems and difficulties understanding basic concepts!! :)
