That is ridiculous. These new potential marine new routs are very well known, and nothing prevents the US to sign agreements with those countries to get ships through when the moment comes, like anybody else. The problem is two-fold. One, he doesn’t like to pay, his business history is peppered with construction providers being stiffed for no reason because of that. There is no problem for US ships to cross the Panama Canal already, but he wants to get it for free. Same with those Arctic routes. And second, he wants access to the mineral reserves those countries have and, you guessed it, he doesn’t want to pay or to ask permission to get them either. Just pure imperialism.
