Stripped down some more battery packs..

By the time I'm done I'll have nearly 80 of them.

I'd better start thinking of projects 🤔 🤣🤣

Are those packs that have quit working in your tools?

Same question

Kind of.. lets just say the fiat mine decided to change an external service provider and they have their own contract with a power tool brand.

So these were liberated from the battery waste recycling...😁

I'd ask what you're going to do with them but it sounds you're tryna keep that low key

Not really, i just have so many I'm not sure what to do with them.

A few will get used in meshtastic nodes.

The rest will go into either seperate battery banks or one single battery bank.

Very cool. I wish i had the money and time to dive into the mesh realm.

The bare boards are cheap enough, and cases and other sundries can be diy'ed.

If you know wranglerstar his video on them has them in a waterproof case for kayaking. It costs about $4. Some people use outdoor junction boxes.

All I'm saying is, if you want it, you'll find a way.

I got my base units as an asked for birthday gift 😉

I don't know what's going on here but I'm suddenly interested

These are power tool battery packs surplus to requirements.

I'm breaking down the plastic case which is held together by 4 T20 torx screws, pulling out the pack, removing the BMS and ripping off the nickel BUS bars.

And viola, a shit load of samsung 18360 batteries in tip top condition.

Think of a tesla battery pack but smaller.

A lot, lot smaller.. 🤣

And what are you going to do with them? Other than use as shotgun slugs

At the moment im not sure. Definitely use some to power a few meshtastic nodes. But that wont take many.

After that either several back up battery banks for the family or one big bank for off grid charging of tools etc when i'm down the garden.

Railgun? 😅 Might be useful in Westminster.... you know for the pigeons 😉

And the rats.. 😉
