Here’s a small example, but there are hundreds like this, and makes you wonder if it all has a dual meaning both metaphor and literal:
Christ was crucified at Golgotha aka “The Place of The Skull”. What is this skull? Does it symbolize death? Of course it does. But right there in the cliffside is a rock formation that looks just like a skull. It’s uncanny. That was my first aha moment.
“and he went out, bearing his own cross, to the place called The Place of a Skull, which in Aramaic is called Golgotha.”
