The fact I've never heard of it and it's raised that much money (but I'm using nostr and there's no marketing team) just proves fiat VC is no longer a good signal for the best product / solution.
Nostr was funded by grants, not equity. This is the future. People don't want to be enslaved by equity owned by investors who can access printed money in exchange for real hard work. I hope people can build apps and clients based on user revenue from lightning rather than having to go down the VC route.
right.
is that the main way clients should monetize? just taking a cut of zaps?
the other model i can see is a subscription to relays.
bolt 12 would make it super easy
I meant lightning as in Bitcoin payments generally, whatever business model (pay for relay, subscription to clients). Bitcoin makes it easier to monetize directly from a global customer base from day one.
it’s honestly kind of insane when you extrapolate the second order effects of direct content monetization
it’s just so natural haha
i think gigi said it best when he said that attention is a bad proxy for value
