- Nostr is an ecosystem of applications like social networking, blogs, chat, etc. not reliant on a central server(relay), built on a open-source protocol.
- Nostr maximizes choice to the user - you choose which clients (apps) & relays you use to publish your notes; what content you see depends on who you choose to follow.
- Your content is preserved across clients & relays: If you don't like a client or a relay is restricting your notes, change to a different client or use another relay, without losing your followers or your previous notes.
- There's no login ID or password, no email or mobile number required. Instead there's a unique public key-private key pair generated on your first use that works across all clients; public key to share with people who want to follow you & private key to authenticate it's you & cryptographically sign all that you publish.
Probably technically unsound but this is what I told my friends.
