A person of faith wants to believe what’s true and pursue what’s just whether or not the truth aligns with his present beliefs or the just ostensibly benefits him.

Or, put differently, he believes a just outcome is always more beneficial to him than an outcome that aligns with his tribe, present beliefs or investments.

A Godless person doesn’t believe in truth or justice, and therefore adopts whatever he’s incentivized to believe as truth and sees his interests as inherently “just.”

He implicitly believes might makes right and positions himself on the side of the powerful within his circles. Whatever advances their interests he will see as “just.”

The person of faith argues to find out what’s true. The Godless advocates for his position, like a lawyer representing a client.
