Run a Bitcoin node to verify your Bitcoin transactions and run the rules you want to run. This puts you in control of your money.

Run a Nostr relay to backup your notes and events. This puts you in control of your data.

This is the way... Looking forward to finding some time to setup my own relay on my Umbrel. 🤗

I need to do my own research of course, but what kind of disk space is recommended for a "personal backup node"

This is just me, but I wouldn't feel comfortable having both my Bitcoin node and Nostr relay running on the same device. You'd essentially be allowing the world to connect to your node over the Internet. I run mine on different devices.

hmm, very good point - and noted! 🙇

need more Raspberry Pis 😄

Always!

Pleb question. Can you run a Nostr relay on Mac M1? I do run a bitcoin node with no problems.

Yes, you can. Nostream is probably the easiest. Are you familiar with Docker? Though, you don't need to use Docker.

This is why ill be running my own relay.
