👮‍♂️ Bitcoin Helps Fight Police Brutality

On June 6, 2012, Travis Kiger secured the recall of three Fullerton city council members and charges against two police officers who beat homeless man Kelly Thomas to death.

This story is interesting because #bitcoin played a significant role in Travis's fight against corruption and police brutality – the libertarian Republican's campaign was partially sponsored by bitcointalk forum members.

It is also interesting that Kiger saved the coins collected in spring 2012 to later sell them at the peak of the 2013 cycle.
