Amid one of the largest electoral frauds in the history of democracy, with more than 2,000 people arrested, dozens dead, and hundreds injured, the Vatican sent a new apostolic nuncio who met with dictator Nicolás Maduro. During the meeting, the nuncio presented the dictator with a photo album "with a very beautiful prayer."

Regarding the fraud, the prisoners, the dead, and the injured, the Vatican representative said nothing.
