Are tomatoes fruit or veggies?

tomato is a fruit, a vegetable isn't neccessarily edible but it has roots, stem and leaves

Then why tomatoes always in salads?

idk but who said salad can't have fruit, the word just means "mixed up" really... the spanish word is "salsa" and is a name used by many different things that include not just leaf, root, seed, fruit, it can also have meat, dairy and eggs, think of a greek salad

I thought it meant salt

could be, but you don't put salt in fruit salad

think of the expression "word salad"

more or less "salad" means a bunch of stuff that probably is chopped up mixed uniformly and usually slathered in some kind of sauce based on oil and vinegar

Can confirm, wife bore fruit, am vegetable.
