Did you change any relay setting? If just some follows disappeared, then it's probably an older version of the event that got loaded. If you were changing relays, it's possible that the new relay doesn't have your most up-to-date version of your follow list.
There are at least 17 different versions of your follow list living in separate relays. :(
Correction, there are 42 versions of your contact list available. It depends on which relay you connect to, you get a different follow list. :(
